Freshbooks is an awesome tool for managing all the boring bits when it comes to freelance work. It does Time tracking, Invoices and keeps track of your VAT and stuff as well. Basically all the things you don't want to spend your energy on, Freshbook does for you.
Thanks to a competition on Jacob Gube's blog Six Revisions I got a free subscription for a year, and I can't tell you how sweet this app seems to be.

To make the game a bit more interesting and fun for the player in the balloonacy game we've now added twice as many boost canisters, stars and rainbows to the map.

The last couple of days has been amazing in the balloon race project. We've finally got this beast up and running and the response we've got has been fenomenal!
A few of my friends has become addicted to the game and the work productivity in their offices has dropped by magnitudes. Yay!
Anyhow, I though I'd share some tips and tricks that could make you a better balloonist in this game:
Aim for the rainbow transporters. They will make your balloon magically travell around 4 to 6 rows in the game. And you will pick up boost and star tokens as you go. So rainbows is definitly the best mapitem to go for if in doubt.
Pick up boost. A 100% boost will give you enough power to swish through 3 sites. Also if you have more than 100% boost, and a boost canister is in front of you, always boost into it, since you're not loosing anything.
Collect Prize Tokens. For every five you collect, your in for a daily draw to get free stuff that will be announced after the game has finished.
Plan your journey strategically. One good idea is to always have the map open in one browser window, and the race window in another so you always know what coming up ahead. For instance if you have the choice of a star on the current site, but there's a rainbow in the other next site, you might want to give the star a miss and aim for the rainbow site instead.
Get your friends to help out. When you've got five buddy boosts your boost level goes up 100%. You can only get this once per day. Also, it's a bad idea to get the 5th buddy boost when your boost level is above 100%, since the hard limit of boost is 200%.

For the past couple of months I've been working on this crazy balloon race across the internet, and the stuff's just gone live over at playballoonacy.com. Basically what we're trying to do is to fly a bunch of balloons over a set route of internet sites. If you push your balloon around you can pick up little prize tokens which puts you in a daily prize draw pool. And if you're really diligent about your ballooing and you manage to push it the furthest during the 7 day balloon bonanza, you will win a trip to Ibiza for you and your friends.
The actual race starts Monday 23rd June and I can't wait!
If you can guess where Winston the bull will be at 3pm, you've got a spot at winning a pair of Glastonbury festival tickets for this summer.
Last time around the bull was tracked with GPS, this year it's all done with cameras. Especially one mounted high above the field that always keeps track of where Winston is.
Some of the bands at the festival are Kings of Leon, Massive Attack, Hot Chip and The Kills which I'd really like to see.
So come on Winston, be at square 23 at 3pm please!

For quite some time we've been working on a new website for Poke. The result is a blog/portfolio site. The site design was mainly made by Nicky and some help from Cookie and Buzz, and I built it.
This project really made me fall in love with jQuery. Excellent javascript library! Be sure to check out the site.
Over the past month me and my friends at POKE have been working on Topshop Fashion Fix a Facebook application for Topshop. The application lets users rate/share/discuss new Topshop clothes. And to kick things off we created a special christmas game (Snap it up!) where you can win vouchers and such.
Working with the Facebook API proved to be surprisingly painless. You can tell the Facebook developer team has been busy creating their own markup language (FBML), database query language (FQL), javascript proxy (FBJS) etc. However they have still tried to keep everything as close to standards as possible so to keep the learning curve gentle.
